Ik: "What you are saying about television and the human mind is of the greatest importance." Delgado: "It is, because what is television really doing? Television enters the intimacy of people's homes and changes ideas and experiences of millions and millions of people in a thousand subtle ways. Actually, it changes in such a way, that television viewers are virtually defenseless against carefully pre-meditated lies and propaganda. The television viewer is not conscious of the harm or the benefit of the 'information' they are being fed, because they are even totally unaware, that while something is being said on the television screen, it literally changes the chemistry and therefore the anatomy of the brains of viewers. This scientific fact is unknown to the television viewer. Nevertheless, it is a fact. When we talk, you and I, there is no greater intimacy in changing the depths of ourselves than through simple conversation. Naturally, the greater the emotional impact, the deeper the imprinting of these ideas in our minds. The most complete sexual intimacy cannot be compared with the intimacy of ideas, that are truly shared. The latter is by far more intimate."
